Nubian and Saanen ADGA Dairy Goats
***Cae negative for 2012***
We have moved to the central MI area near Farwell
UPDATE; We are opening our herd to two new arrivals from Idaho!! Ransom, a POLLED Nubian buckling and his twin sister Adifa!!! I am so excited to be able to add polled genetics to my herd and others! Their sire's full sister, Pennyroyal Frida, placed #1 in milk,butterfat and protien for 2010!!! His pedigree is almost exclusively Six-M-Galaxy breeding, click on the link to see his pedigree http://www.adgagenetics.org/GoatDetail.aspx?RegNumber=N001550413. Their dam has just as much of an impressive pedigree and is loaded with some very old AI genetics! Clisk on the link to see her pedigree http://www.adgagenetics.org/GoatDetail.aspx?RegNumber=N001501279. Watch for their individual pages to be added for more information.
A note to prospective buyers..... I don't raise goats to get rich.....I raise them for enjoyment, organic milk and to preserve and improve wonderful bloodlines....I believe in helping out others with this same philosophy, so my prices are low to help people afford awesome genetics that would otherwise be out of reach for some. Wonderful, loving homes are a must : )
Our mission is to offer high quality, genetically hardy animals with high milking capacities for self reliance. We keep a closed herd(health is more important than ribbons!) and intervene with western medicines as little as possible and only when necessary, as above all else the health and well being of our goats comes first!! We strive to use herbal alternatives when appropriate. This practice makes a healthier herd and passes along a stronger immune system to future kids. We have a small herd to provide individual attention to each goat. This keeps them at their happiest!!
Take a look at our herd and check out their pedigree's on each individual goat's page.
We breed for genetically hardy goats not medicine dependent animals. Mother Nature knows best and we fully rely on survival of the fittest. This doesn't mean we allow our goats to suffer or be in pain. If the need arises we do intervene as we love our goats, they are a part of our family!! : )
We are members of ADGA and MDGA.
How We Raise Our Goats;
**All of our goats get free choice alfalfa hay, pasture(when in season) and high quality organic grain twice a day. They have access to Golden Blend minerals, Kelp, baking soda and Kop-Sel 24/7, as well as Apple Cider Vinegar top dressed once daily on their grain. Each goat is assigned a feed "station" where they are tied and fed an individual amount.Thier training on this begins as kids. It is a little more timely but it lets us know exactly what each goat is eating or not eating. This practice also teaches the goats it is ok to be tied and really comes in handy for various chores : ) We choose NOT to vaccinate our goats as we firmly believe it causes more harm than good and breed for excellent, natural immune systems instead of trying to artificially produce them. All of our girls are not bred until they are almost two years old(unless they jump a fence and breed themselves!) to allow them to mature more and be in great shape to carry kids. Our does are bred every other year and are milked through in-between this time.They work hard and deserve a year off!!!**
